Serpentine Beauty Bold Lip Glaze Review

Today I am excited to feature a new Canadian makeup brand based right here in Toronto! You may be unfamiliar with Serpentine Beauty but these trendy lip colors will have many beauty junkies loading up their online carts. The company specializes in creating a diverse range of high performance pigments formulated for professional results. There are flattering shades for every skin tone and personality – designed to make women feel confident, stylish and beautiful.

There are 10 Lip Glazes currently available on the website with a beautiful collection of lipsticks set to launch very soon. The color spectrum ranges from nude tones and pearlescent pink to vibrant hues, unique reds and radiant finishes. The packaging you see here is currently being glamorized for a chic new look but the formula is impressive.

The Glazes are classified as a liquid lipstick - gloss hybrid with rich pigmentation and a lush, comfortable texture. The creamy formula glides on smoothly and saturates lips in bold, stunning color that is buildable and easily enhanced to customize your look. If you prefer soft coverage, you have the option of layering lighter and you can even apply over lipstick or mix your favorites to create a unique blend.

Each shade is infused with luminous pearls for a multidimensional effect and enriched with conditioning emollients, waxes, antioxidants and anti-aging properties for supple, healthy looking lips. Nourishing shea butter moisturizes to prevent dryness and the shiny finish is luminous without feeling thick or sticky. The scent isn’t bad but I find it quite waxy. A splash of fruit or sweetness would have been a nice touch but once applied the aroma seems to mellow.

Since the formula is creamy, the color will eventually transfer with contact, eating and wear but it does so gradually and adheres well for better staying power and no feathering. When the color fades, my lips feel soft and hydrated - similar to the results I get from using lip balm.

The nude hues are not really my style with the exception of the shade Naked Angel but I can see them being suitable for fair complexions.

Left to right: Naked Angled (champagne-nude), Fuzzy Princess (frosty ballerina pink) and Kayla (soft pink with shimmer)

I also have two Glazes in the new packaging which is a nice improvement. I think the neutral range could use more color variation in terms of undertones but if you like soft, tranquil hues these may work for you.

Vivacious (pinky-nude) and Afterglow (nude with gold pearls)

The pink and berry shades are my personal fave for all seasons and they are universally flattering. I think every woman needs a powerful, confidence-boosting color in her collection and my go-to Glaze is Hysteria.

Left to right: Miss Moxie (fuchsia pink,) Marquise (pink-purple mauve) and Hysteria (magenta pink)

The bronzy-red pigments are fabulous on every complexion but I particularly love them on medium to deep skin. They also look great with glamorous makeup.

Napoleon (bronzy-pink with red undertone) and Rustique (burnt orange)

In the future I would love to see the brand expand the collection to include brighter reds, wine, soft plums and maybe even deep purple.

If you are on the hunt for vivacious lip color with a great formula then head over to serpentinebeauty.com. The Lip Glazes retail for $26.00 each.
